Terms of Service
These terms and conditions shall apply to customers using e-bike rental bicycles of the Kanazawa City Public Share Cycle Machinori Office (hereinafter referred to as "Secreteriat"). Matters not stipulated in these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by laws or general customs.
Article 1 (Purpose)
The purpose of this Secretariat is to improve the convenience of transportation for customers in sightseeing and to enhance the e-bike lifestyle through the use of this Secretariat, as well as to contribute to the popularization of e-bikes and other sports cycle culture.
Article 2 (Eligibility for Use)
Only customers who conform to all of the following items may use the rental bicycles.
- Those who agree with the purpose of the Secretariat and are able to abide by these Rules and Regulations and other traffic regulations.
- Those who possess a telephone number with which the Secretariat can be contacted.
- Those who carry an ID card on the day of rental and can present it to the staff of the Secretariat.
- Must be in good health to use the e-bike.
- Those who are not under the influence of alcohol.
- Are not a member of any organized crime group.
- Those who do not have any infectious diseases or other epidemics that could be transmitted to others.
- Those under 18 years of age who can be accompanied by a person with parental authority or a person over 18 years of age (hereinafter referred to as "guardian") during the rental period. In this case, the Parent/Guardian's signature and the Parent/Guardian's identification are required at the time of application for use. The Parent/Guardian shall be jointly and severally liable with the applicant for any and all responsibilities under these Terms of Use.
- The applicant must not have violated these Terms of Use in the past, and must not have failed to pay the rental fee.
- Other users who are deemed suitable for use by the Secretariat.
Article 3 (Reservations)
- Customers may make reservations in advance by submitting an online application by 3:00 p.m. two days prior to the desired rental date, or by calling the store by the close of business the day before the desired rental date.
- When making a reservation by phone, please provide the user's name and age, telephone number, desired bicycle model, and desired rental date and time.
- Please note that the requested model of bicycle may not be available for loan depending on availability.
- Bicycles can be rented on the same day without a reservation. However, priority will be given to customers who have made reservations in advance.
- If you are going to be late for the reserved time on the day of the rental, please call the office before the reserved time.
- If the height registered in the reservation application differs from the actual height and does not match the adaptable height of the bicycle for loan, the loan will be denied.
Article 4 (Change of Reservation)
- Customers may change their reservations by contacting the Secretariat in advance and receiving it's approval.
Article 5 (Cancellation of Reservations)
- Reservations may be cancelled free of charge up to two days prior to the date of use by the end of the store business hours.
- Cancellations made one day prior to the date of use or later will be subject to a cancellation fee as shown in the table below.
- Reservations will be automatically cancelled one hour after the reserved rental time without prior notice.
- Cancellation on the day before due to inclement weather forecast* will be free of charge. Please contact us during the store business hours on the previous day.

Inclement weather forecast is defined as the case where the probability of precipitation is 60% or more in the area around the office or destination according to the weather forecast announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency on the previous day.
Article 6 (Application Procedures)
Application procedures for use shall be as follows
- Confirm the rental period, rental course and rental parts of the rental bicycle with the store staff.
- Fill out the rental application form.
- Hand the rental application form and identification card to the store staff. The staff will check your ID card and, in some cases, take down the number.
- The rental fee will be settled. The rental fee shall be settled as separately determined, and in principle, the rental fee shall be paid in advance.
- The store staff will explain the handling of the rental bicycle and parts (hereinafter referred to as "rental products").
- The store staff will adjust the rental bicycle to suit the customer.
- The customer and store staff will check together to ensure that the rental item is in good working order, etc.
- The store staff hands over the rental item to the customer.
Article 7 (Return of Rental Product)
The procedure for applying for use shall be as follows.
- The customer must return the loaned product to the office by the scheduled return time.
- The loaned product must be returned in the same condition as when it was loaned. In the event of any abnormality or malfunction, please inform the store staff immediately.
Article 8 (Formation of Rental Agreement)
- The rental contract for the loaned product is concluded when the store receives the rental fee and hands over the loaned product to the customer.
- In the event that the store is unable to lend the rental item reserved by the customer due to accident, theft, or other reasons beyond the control of the Office or the Operator, the store may cancel its acceptance of the reservation from the customer.
Article 9 (Invalidation of Application for Use)
In the event that a customer falls under any of the following items during the rental period, the Management Office and the Operator may invalidate the customer's application without any notice and immediately demand the return of the loaned products. In such cases, any rental fees received by the store in accordance with Article 5 will not be returned.
- The customer commits an act in violation of these Terms of Use.
- When an accident occurs due to reasons attributable to the customer.
Article 10 (Exceeding the Rental Period)
- If you are going to miss the scheduled return time, please contact the office as soon as possible.
- In the event that the rental equipment is returned over the loan period, the customer shall pay the separately determined overage fee.
- If the delay in returning the equipment causes damage to a third party, such as the next applicant being unable to use the equipment, the customer shall compensate the third party for the damage.
- If the customer does not contact us after the scheduled return time and the equipment has not been returned, we may confirm the return by phone, mail, or e-mail. Even if the customer does not contact us, additional charges will be incurred in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
Article 11 (Use of Baggage Storage Service)
- Customers who apply for e-bike rental may use the office's baggage service free of charge (*For other rental bikes, a fee will be charged).
- When applying to use the service, the store staff will give you a baggage tag in exchange for your baggage.
- Please do not put valuables in your baggage. The secretariat and the management company will not be held responsible for any theft or other damage.
- Do not put food, living creatures, hazardous materials, or any other items that may cause leaks or generate odors. If the secretariat, customers, or third parties suffer damage as a result of these items, the owner must be held responsible for compensation. In the event of a water leak or odor, the staff of the office may check the contents of the baggage without the customer's permission and take action to resolve the problem.
- No use of the office is permitted outside of office hours.
- After returning the loaned item(s) and before leaving, the customer must hand the baggage tag provided by the customer to the secretariat staff for exchange for the baggage.
Article 12 (Breakage or Damage)
- In the event of breakdown or damage to the loaned product, please stop riding immediately and notify the secretariat.
- In the event of a flat tire on the bicycle, customers who have been loaned a repair kit by the Secretariat must use the kit to repair the bicycle. If you do not know how to repair it, please contact the Secretariat.
- If the loaned product is broken or damaged due to reasons attributable to the customer, the amount of the damage may be charged to the customer.
Article 13 (Theft or Loss)
- In the event of theft or loss, the customer shall notify the office immediately.
- If the loaned item is stolen or lost for reasons attributable to the customer, the customer may be charged for the amount of the damage.
Article 14 (Accidents)
- In the event of an accident during the loan period, the customer shall promptly notify the Executive Office.
- If necessary, the customer shall take the measures required by law, such as contacting the police.
- The customer shall compensate for any damage caused to the office or a third party due to reasons attributable to the customer.
- The secretariat and the operator will not be liable for any damage to the customer or a third party caused by the breakdown of the bicycle due to an accident.
- If you need to settle the accident, you shall do so on your own responsibility. The Secretariat and the Operator shall not be liable for any accident.
- Compensation will be made within the scope of the "Travel Insurance" coverage.
Article 15 (Prohibited Acts)
- During the rental period, the Customer shall not allow any person other than the User who has filled out the rental application form to use the rental product.

The customer shall not engage in any of the following prohibited acts during the rental period.
- Reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, or other acts that violate traffic regulations.
- Use of the rental equipment in a dangerous or unsuitable location or method.
- Actions that obstruct the passage of pedestrians and other pedestrians.
- Alteration or modification of the structure or equipment of the loaned product.
- Riding without a helmet.
- Any other acts in violation of laws and regulations.
Article 16 (Termination Due to Force Majeure)
The rental agreement shall be terminated in the event that the loaned Product becomes unusable during the loan period due to a natural disaster or other force majeure event not attributable to the office, the operator or the customer. In such a case, the customer shall promptly notify the store to that effect and agrees in advance that the rental fee will not be refunded.
Article 17 (Rules of Faith)
If any doubt arises regarding the contents of these Terms and Conditions, or if any matter arises that is not stated in these Terms and Conditions, the customer, the Office, and the Operator shall consult with each other in good faith and endeavor to resolve the matter.
Article 18 (Court of agreed jurisdiction)
In the event of any dispute over the rights and obligations under these Terms and Conditions, the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over the head office of the Operator or the Executive Office.
The Terms of Use are subject to change without prior notice. Modified Terms of Use shall become effective from the time they are displayed on the website.
